About us

Founded in 2000 by Edith Severs, Copyright Power International is an independent, women-founded and women-led music publisher and rights management company based in the Netherlands.

Edith began her career at Buma/Stemra and later at Zomba Music Group (manager publishing), where she represented global artists including the Backstreet Boys, Iron Maiden, John Lee Hooker, and Britney Spears. These experiences shaped CPI’s international vision and network. In the early years, CPI also set up the publishing catalog for Massive Music, gaining hands-on expertise in structuring media music rights and licensing strategies.

Today, CPI is co-led by Edith and Sascha van Verseveld, General Manager and architect of our in-house royalty platform Royalty Power. With a background in both publishing and IT, Sascha ensures that our operations combine precision, transparency, and innovation.

Together, they lead a company that protects rights, empowers creators, and unlocks the full potential of every catalogue — with trust, transparency, and long-term commitment at the heart of everything we do.

Review

“CopyrightPower is a publisher we have been working with for over 20 years. When we chose CPI in 2000, we already knew we needed an intermediary because Buma leaves a lot to be desired, and it yields money. This still proves to be the case. But we had no idea that CPI does so much more than just collect royalties. We can always go to them with questions about Sena, music clearance, collaborations with other parties, legal music issues, artist agreements, music promotion, etc. etc. The collaboration has become a partnership with which we are very satisfied. Competent and pleasant people to work with. They are not black and white in their approach and think along with you. A reliable party is a must in the music world to do business with a good feeling. That is also one of the reasons why we, without hesitation, share our music for their library, a great initiative.”
